Technical plans When designing furniture at Amelia Aran, S.L.® we first perceive furniture as a practical, aesthetical element in the home. This leads us to conceive a draft product design which will culminate in technical plans for the manufacture.
Choice of woods and suppliers The first stage begins with a careful choice of the wood, considering such factors as moisture, temperature, density, grain colour, number of knots, hardness and origin. We effect a stringent check on our woods and are fully opposed to indiscriminate deforestation. We demand that our suppliers use an ongoing selection process and the technology and machinery most suited to the job in order to produce the wood we use for our furniture.
Numerical check An initial cut ensures parts are ready for turning, boring and cutting down using computer-operated numerical check machines. Numerical checks constitute a specific manufacturing process for furniture using cutting-edge technology assuring complete precision down to the last millimetre when it comes to size and finishes, assuring maximum safety in use for all products.
Manufacture Once the various parts are prepared, machining is performed on those parts that need it ready for the fining and assembly process for the unfinished item of furniture.

Quality check on unfinished furniture All Amelia Aran furniture launched on to the market must pass the following quality checks on the unfinished piece: Verification of measurements Verification of bores for assembly ensuring they comply with sizes, depths and the locations intended Verification of gaps in the furniture Verification that the item is unblemished and sanded down perfectly Verification of assembly with fittings Verification of perfect final assembly; carrycots, cots, punk beds, beds and truckle beds, must be assembled with the sprung bed base. All furniture complies with European safety standards, and childcare furniture compiles with EU standards 716-1 and 716-2.
Lacquer process Once the furniture is manufactured and has passed the aforementioned mandatory checks, it must be given a smooth, indent- and mark-free surface. Next, primer is perfectly applied in the form of two base layers with the respective sanding being performed between each, respecting the drying times between the application of primer and sanding to assure the furniture bears an optimal finish. Subsequently, several layers of high quality, long lasting lacquer are applied, which are durable in terms of colour, preventing deterioration. The drying times between one layer and the next are stringently controlled.
Quality check for lacquer A check is performed to ensure that the lacquer on furniture is perfect and the surface is completely smooth. Lacquer is even applied to the inside of drawers.
